Tillman HARTMAN

Tillman “Till” Hartman, a resident of R.R.#1 Shakespeare, peacefully passed away at the age of 88 on Sunday, September 3, 2023. He was surrounded by his loved ones at the LHSC Victoria Hospital. Till was a devoted husband to Muriel (Levy) Hartman, and together they shared 67 beautiful years of marriage. His children, Debbie Hartman (Marc Shickluna), Patti Hartman, and Julie Hartman (Brian Copping), cherished him dearly.

Till was a proud Papa to Mitchell Shickluna and adoringly known as “Papa Till” to Stephanie Cahill. He was the dear brother of Barbara Corriveau, Richard Hartman, Martha (Jim Ruggaber), and Ellen (Maurice Rau). Till was also a loving brother-in-law to Dara Hartman and Grace Black. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Dorothy Hartman, as well as his sister, Mary Ann Flanagan, and brother, Michael Hartman. Till will be forever missed by his beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Stratford General Hospital and the Thoracic Unit at Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Francis Funeral Home, located at 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock, on Sunday, between 2-5 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Fr. David Butler, will take place on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow the service.

Till’s presence brought immense happiness to his family, and he held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, Mitchell Shickluna and Stephanie Cahill, who affectionately knew him as “Papa Till”. As a dear brother to Barbara Corriveau, Richard Hartman, Martha (Jim Ruggaber), and Ellen (Maurice Rau), and brother-in-law to Dara Hartman and Grace Black, Till’s love and laughter will be forever missed within his family circle.

Till was preceded in death by his parents Alphonse and Dorothy Hartman, his sister Mary Ann Flanagan, and brother Michael Hartman. Additionally, he was preceded by his brothers-in-law Bernard Flanagan, Harvey Corriveau, Phillip Black, Bill Carducci, and sister-in-law Joanne Hartman. He will always be fondly remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
