Tina Eva Marie Schlaepfer

July 26, 2023

Tina Eva Marie Schlaepfer, formerly known as Tina Raiche, passed away on July 26 at the age that was far too young. Tina made every moment count, embracing a life full of travel, adventure, music, and dance. Throughout her journey, she lived in various countries such as Dubai, Hong Kong, and Switzerland, but Canada was always her beloved home. Her educational background allowed her to excel in different roles, from serving as a Vice Principal for a special needs school in Dubai to establishing her own English school in Switzerland, where she also taught in Hong Kong.

Tina had a plethora of hobbies that kept her busy and fulfilled. She passionately indulged in Native crafts, including beading and jewelry making. She loved immersing herself in Pow Wows, quilting, flamenco dancing, hiking, and skiing. An interesting aspect of her life was her immense collection of coloring books and pencils, displaying her creative nature.

Her capacity to love unconditionally was truly extraordinary, and it was undoubtedly her greatest gift to those fortunate enough to know her. Tina is survived by her husband Enrico, her son Javen Burchell, and she held a special place in the hearts of her stepchildren Sierra Gluck, Kai Lani Rutland, Michele Schlaepfer, and Thierry Schlaepfer. Additionally, she cherished her role as Oma to Samantha and Hershel. Her siblings, Karen Mersereau (Glenn), Elise “Lisa” Urso (Gerry), and brother Michael Raiche (Rose), along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-law in Switzerland, mourn her loss deeply. She also leaves behind many friends across the globe who will miss her dearly but will always remember her fondly.

As Tina embarks on her journey to the Spirit World, may the Creator guide her peacefully. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Maison McCullough Hospice in Sudbury, as a token of appreciation for the care and support they provided during this difficult time.
