Tony HORVAT

Tony Horvat Sr., aged 83, passed away suddenly, leaving a lasting void in the hearts of his loved ones. The beloved husband of Edith for 60 years, Tony will be deeply cherished and forever missed. His children, Bobbie Niwa and Tony Horvat, along with his five grandchildren AJ, Dylan, Spencer, Sam, and Amelia, and his three great-granddaughters Logan, Addison, and Rulene, are among those who mourn his loss. Tony also leaves behind his dear sisters Mary Tailby and Anne Szutiak, and brothers Ben and Leonard Horvat. His loyal companion, Misty, was always by his side. Tony was truly exceptional, radiating kindness and capturing the affection of all who crossed his path. His compassionate and wise words guided others in their own journeys. Though he would allow us to stumble, he would always extend a helping hand to lift us up and set us back on our feet. Tony bestowed upon each of us a profound sense of importance, just as we were to him. He served as an inspiration to countless individuals, and we can only hope to emulate half the person he was. We love you, Dad.

A funeral service in Tony’s honor will take place on November 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. The service will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 200 Boundary rd. Spruce Grove, Alberta. Following the service, there will be a reception, and later, at 2:30 p.m., a graveside ceremony will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery on 498 South Avenue, Spruce Grove, Alberta. Pallbearers including Tony Horvat, Darren Niwa, AJ Niwa, Dylan Niwa, Spencer Niwa, Cecil Conlon, as well as honorary pallbearers Ben and Leonard Horvat, and Bruce McMullan will ensure that Tony is laid to rest with the utmost care and respect.
