Vera Mary Findlay, formerly known as Vera Mary Delahunt, peacefully passed away at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. Surrounded by her loving family, she was 94 years old at the time of her passing. Vera was the beloved wife of the late Murray “M.J” Findlay, who passed away on February 2, 1997. She was a much-loved mother to Ann Hewitt (late Doug), Carol Lesway (late Mervin), Craig (Heather), and Toby (Laurie). Sadly, Vera was also predeceased by her son, Lindsay, on February 3, 2015. She was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Vera was the last surviving child of William and Sarah “Fanny” Delahunt (nee Wilson), and she was preceded in death by her four brothers: Edgar (late Minolta), John (late Marjorie), Arthur (late Jane), and Gerald (late Velma). Additionally, Vera leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. The Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., located on 50 John Street North in Arnprior, has been entrusted with her final care and arrangements. A funeral service will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel on Saturday, September 30, at 2 o’clock, followed by a reception. Vera will be privately laid to rest at St. Thomas Anglican Cemetery in Woodlawn.
