Verna WOITO

Verna Maria Woito, nee Keuhl, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the age of 91. She resided at Miramichi Lodge at the time of her passing. Verna was the beloved wife of the late Garnet Woito and the loving mother of Heather Oszmian (Steve), Myles Woito (Rae Ann), and Mark Woito. She was cherished by her grandchildren Ryan, Christopher, and Adam Oszmian; Jenna Dumouchel (Steve), Kirsten Doering (Ben), Scott Woito (Kyrie Gustar), and Nicole Woito (Tanner Goldberg). Verna was also a great-grandmother to Drake, Avery, Mara, Drew, Raya, and Tye. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah, parents John and Viola Keuhl (nee Drefke), and her brothers John (Linda), Harold (Wendy), Allan (late Elvira), Cameron (Geraldine), Eldon (late Ethel), Erhart (Evelyn), and Mervin (Beatrice). Verna is survived by her sister Elaine Kregur (late Harry) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation to pay respects to Verna will be held on Friday, July 14, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home located at 141 Renfrew St., Pembroke. A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, July 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Woito Station. Following the service, Verna will be laid to rest in the parish cemetery. A reception in her honor will be held at the Rankin Culture and Recreation Centre located at 20 Rankin Rink Rd, Pembroke. Malcolm, Deavitt and Binhammer Funeral Home, Pembroke, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Verna was a devoted grandmother to Ryan, Christopher, and Adam Oszmian; Jenna Dumouchel (Steve), Kirsten Doering (Ben), Scott Woito (Kyrie Gustar), and Nicole Woito (Tanner Goldberg). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Drake, Avery, Mara, Drew, Raya, and Tye. Verna’s daughter Deborah predeceased her. She was born to loving parents John and Viola Keuhl (nee Drefke) and had a close bond with her sister Elaine Kregur (late Harry) as well as many nieces and nephews.
