Vincent VANASSE

Vincent (Vince) Vanasse passed away peacefully at the age of 80, surrounded by his loved ones at home. He was a devoted husband of 60 years to his beloved wife Lise (née Thibault) and a cherished father to his daughters, Christine (David Butler) and Andréa (Michael Reid). Vince took great pride in being a doting grandfather to Oscar and Éloïse. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his sister Edna (the late Eldridge Dugas). Born in Ottawa, Vince had deep ties to the region and dedicated his life to studying its history. He was known for his infectious laughter, genuine curiosity, and unwavering support for his favorite team, the Senators. His presence will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation for Vince will be held at the Kelly Funeral Home, Walkley Chapel, 1255 Walkley Rd, on Thursday, November 9, starting at 10:30 a.m. A service will follow in the Chapel at 12 p.m. Due to the current circumstances, interment at the Notre Dame Cemetery will be reserved for immediate family only and take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, causes that Vince held close to his heart. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Mohamed Osman for his compassionate care and to the dedicated paramedics who were there for Vince in his time of need.

Vincent Vanasse will forever be remembered for his warm nature, infectious laughter, and love for his family and community. Though he has left this world, his spirit and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
