Yolanda Contardo

Yolanda Contardo, aged 98, passed away on August 28 at Valleyview Home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luigi, in 2015. Yolanda was the cherished sister of Romano (Jean) Piuzzi and the adored mother of Bruna Green and Frank (Liisa) Contardo. She will be fondly remembered by her niece, Sonia (Pier), and nephews, Francois (France) and Mimmo (Switzerland). Yolanda is survived by her grandchildren Dana, Dylan, Carly, Kiara, and Marco; step-grandchildren Ben, Josh, and Holly; as well as her great-grandchildren Callum, Collin, Miller, Quinton, Gigi, and Charlotte. Her love for her family and her unwavering dedication to them will always be cherished. A heartfelt thank you goes to Inez Buttazzoni, Yolanda’s trusted friend and confidant. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the compassionate staff at Grand Trunk Trail of Valleyview Home.

A private Catholic service, by special invitation only, will be held at Williams Funeral Home at 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas, followed by burial at St. Peter’s Cemetery in London. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
